The root cause of the previous crash is known
A comprehensive investigation has taken place since Airlander’s heavy landing
in August, the root causes of which are now fully understood and a number of
changes in procedures and training have been implemented. Hybrid Air Vehicles
Ltd is not announcing a specific date for the next flight of Airlander.
The root
cause of the previous crash is known, but the company does not want to share any
details. The Hybrid Air Vehicle’s HAV 304 Airlander crashed into the ground in
August 2016, crushing the flight deck and no injuries were reported.. With the
equipment installed, "power-on†has been achieved and on-aircraft testing has
now begun,’ said HAV. The flight tests will proceed later this year. The
instrumental panels, overhead console and the wirings for the same were damaged
and needed to be reinstalled. ‘This was aided by weeks of preparation, which
allowed large sections to be moved at the same time and clipped in to place. A
rigorous testing and training programme has now commenced to prepare for
Airlander taking to the skies again,’ said HAV in a media release. Almost six
months after the

and set to continue its final flight test programme. Hybrid Air Vehicles’ CEO,
Stephen McGlennan said, "We’re delighted to have made the progress we have in
our repairs and look forward to restarting our test flight programme soon. All
repaired after the crash, the world’s largest flying blimp is all set to go up
in the sky once again.‘There will be a period of rigorous training and testing
before the ‘Flying Bum’ takes to the skies

The research was published in the journal Nature Communications.
Representational image Scientists have developed the first semiconductor-free,
optically-controlled microelectronic device.A team of researchers led by Dan
Sievenpiper at UC San Diego sought to remove these roadblocks to conductivity by
replacing semiconductors with free electrons in space.
Tests on the device
showed a 1,000 per cent change in conductivity. The metasurface consists of an
array of gold mushroom-like nanostructures on an array of parallel gold
strips. For example, semiconductors can impose limits on a device&
Wholesale floor insulation39;s conductivity,
or electron flow.
Scientists have developed the first semiconductor-free,
optically-controlled microelectronic device. The capabilities of existing
microelectronic devices, such as transistors, are ultimately limited by the
properties of their constituent materials, such as their semiconductors,
researchers said."That means more available electrons for manipulation," Ebrahim
said.Using meta-materials, engineers at the University of California San Diego
in the US were able to build a micro-scale device that shows a 1,000 per cent
increase in conductivity when activated by low voltage and a low power laser.
Electron velocity is limited, since electrons are constantly colliding with
atoms as they flow through the semiconductor. The gold metasurface # is designed
such that when a low DC voltage (under 10 Volts) and a low power infrared laser
are both applied, the metasurface generates "hot spots" – spots with a high
intensity electric field - that provide enough energy to pull electrons out from
the metal and liberate them into space.
The discovery paves the way for
microelectronic devices that are faster and capable of handling more power, and
could also lead to more efficient solar panels.Scientists have developed the
first semiconductor-free, optically-controlled microelectronic device which
conducts 1,000 per cent more electricity than conventional electronic devices.
It either requires applying high voltages (at least 100 Volts), high power
lasers or extremely high temperatures (more than 538 degrees Celsius), which are
not practical in micro- and nanoscale electronic devices. Semiconductors have
what is called a band gap, meaning they require a boost of external energy to
get electrons to flow through them."And we wanted to do this at the microscale,"
said Ebrahim Forati, a former postdoctoral researcher in Sievenpiper's lab and
first author of the study.
To address this challenge, Sievenpiper's team
fabricated a microscale device that can release electrons from a material
without such extreme requirements. However, liberating electrons from materials
is challenging. The device consists of an engineered surface, called a
metasurface, on top of a silicon wafer, with a layer of silicon dioxide in

The other significant ingredient is manorath
Additions were made to simple recipes in the bhog tradition to either richen or
modify them. Serve chilled. Tatiya sthan in Vrindavan continues to use clay
utensils specially made in Kamvana and Jagannath temple in Puri has its own
potters!A common denominator for all temples with regard to bhog is that it
should nourish and feed not only the body but also the mind.

made bhuna zeeraMethodPut the dahi into a fine muslin cloth to drain.Six ritu
(the cycle of the seasons) is a valuable guide to the selection of ingredients
and one cannot go wrong if we use what is a typical natural product of that
season. Bhog is offered with great fanfare and celebration and served with anand
bhav (pleasure) for the anand (pleasure) of the deity.g.
Serve with kheer.Indeed,
the Mahaprasad is reputed to have magical qualities of transformation. Serve
with rice or bejar rotis. In Guruyayur temple (Kerala), the husk of the coconut
fuels the fire used to cook bhog while tamarind bark is used to cook food for
the devotees. Bring the water to a boil and tip in the rice. Pass through a
sieve/white muslin cloth. It is served to the deities in temples as bhog and to
the needy and poor as part of sewa (community service). In many homes, a small
portion of each meal is first served to the household deity before being
consumed. An element of exotica is also added as the bhaav is to offer something
special. Bhog in that sense is holistic — taking care of bodily and intellectual
needs and thereby spiritual growth. It is a rare god indeed who would not be
tempted to eat!Black RiceDeep purple rather than black in colour due to the high
content of anthocynins.
The day is divided into aath prahar — eight (unequal)
sections for the purpose of worship and bhog, with each temple following its own
timeline. All the five tastes — sweet, sour, bitter, salty and astringent — are
incorporated during the course of the day. Add the fruit of your choice or a
combination and stir well. Cook till pottal is tender but still has lachak
(body). Hindu texts put heavy emphasis on eating the right kind of food since it
is the main source of energy for the physical body and nourishment for the mind.
Great emphasis is laid on the hygiene, purity, attitude, mind and emotional
state of the person who is cooking.KanikaIngredients1 katori rice1 tbsp moong

certain tree is used. Heat a tbsp of the remaining ghee and add ground masala,
salt and enough water for a gravy consistency.
Fire has special significance in
Hinduism as with other belief systems since it is believed to be the purest of
the five elements and indestructible.Make a thin coatable chashni with the sugar
and water and briefly dunk the golden balls into the chashni till just
coated.Food lovers and authors Geetha and Arun Budhiraja trace the significance
of bhog, the ingredients used to prepare it and more. Clearly, nature intended
their use at that specific moment in time. Milk products for instance have to be
made with cows’ milk alone.Rituals and ceremonies are followed not only in the
process of cooking but also in the serving of bhog.Black rice 1 katoriWater 6-7

In most temples, steel and aluminum vessels are shunned, while copper,

Cultural heritage is the legacy of physical artifacts and intangible attributes
of a group or society that are inherited from past generations, maintained in
the present and bestowed for the benefit of future generations. Before cooking
bhog for the day commences, a havan is performed.According to the principals of
Ayurveda, sattvic food promotes longevity, health purity, strength, happiness
and cheerfulness, rajasic causes pain, grief and disease and tamsic promotes
slothfulness, cruelty and evil nature. Special mantras are recited, flowers and
incense create an ambience and bells tinkle along. Prayers urging the deity to
partake of the offering/cajoling are an indispensible part of the serving. Put
the water to boil. Now pour in 3 tbsp ghee and beat very well till the batter is
light and fluffy. Only later did individual homes light their own fires.Drain
well. This was also called ‘forbidden rice’ as it was consumed only by the
Chinese emperors and not available to commoners. It has extremely cooling
properties and is a wonderful example of the use of local ingredients.
The other
significant ingredient is manorath — that which is made according to the
heart’s desire of the cook… what he feels like serving the Lord. It should be
easy to digest, pure and subtle. Certain vegetables are completely taboo e. Then
tip in the rice mix and when about 70 per cent done, topple in the sugar and
spices and continue to cook on moderate heat till 95 per cent ready. Thus,
whatever we eat impacts the triple qualities of sattva, rajas and tamas which in
turn impacts the balance of our minds and bodies. Remove and mix with mishri
till it dissolves. tamsic ingredients like onion and garlic are shunned because
they arouse the base emotions.Mix in crushed baras, sendha namak and finely
powdered elaichi.IngredientsLeft over rice gruel (if it gets mildly sour, even
better), 2 litres4 inch piece ambokuri ada (mango flavoured ginger, native to
Orissa)Nimbu (lemon or lime) leaves, gently crushed to release the flavour,

nimbus Juice of two santrasSantra, thinly sliced, 1Nimbus, thinly sliced,
2Samudri namak (sea salt), 2 tspCoarse paste of hari mirch (green chilli) and
adrak (ginger), 2 tspFreshly roasted zeera, roughly crushed, 2 tspKala namak
(rock salt), 1 tspMethodMix all the ingredients and chill. Tulsi is an essential
part of bhog which is considered incomplete if tulsi leaves are missing. The
samagri or ingredients burnt in the holy fire/agni emit through their fumes
certain properties that cleanse and purify the atmosphere, creating harmony,
peace and friendship. Drain well.Pottal rasaIngredients½ kg pottal (parwal)Ghee
to fry2 sticks dalchini1 tsp zeera1 tsp dhania seeds¼ tsp kali mirch2 tbsp
grated fresh nariyalSalt to taste¼ tsp haldi powderMethodWash and dry the pottal
and cut into roundels.Serve immediately.Indeed, bhaav (emotional vibe) is the
most valuable ingredient in the preparation of bhog. Similarly, bhog should
express the concepts of purity, devotion and non-violence. A flame from this
yagya (sacred fire) is used to light the fire for preparing bhog.
Now place
another layer on top and dust again. Interestingly, some vegetables/fruits are
available for only a very short time.Preparation for cooking bhog is as
important as the actual process of cooking in temples all over.. Temple kitchens
however have been an exception and rituals of puja and ceremony, festivals and
bhog have by and large remained as per the vidhi (method) laid down in the
shastras (ancient texts). Leave to rest about 10 mins, fluff up and serve. A
high protein and carbohydrate quotient makes it very healthy but difficult to
digest, so it is served in very small portions.Heat the ghee and drop in little
balls of the batter, frying till a lovely golden and crisp. Now pour in the ghee,
cover and cook for a few minutes and take off heat.PokharoAn immensely popular
offering at the anand bazaar in Jagannath temple, Puri. In early Indian society,
the prasad distributed was the primary source of nutrition. Similarly, pure ghee
made from cow’s milk is the preferred medium of cooking and if at all oil is
used it is mustard oil and not the refined variant.Bring to a boil and then
lower the flame and add fried pottal. There is an emphasis on fruits, milk and
its by-products and nuts — often used innovatively. Cook till soft, adding more
water if required and drain the remaining water when done. At the Govindevji
temple in Imphal, wood with rice husk is used as fuel. Food occupies an
important position in the religious life of Hindus. Thus, ingredients are used
according to their suitability to the demands of the season, the colour palette,
varying textures and tastes are also considered while choosing a menu. It is
offered to ancestors during rituals and to gods during invocation ceremonies.Dry
roast the zeera, dalchini, kali mirch, dhania and grind along with the narial to
a smooth paste. The basic tenets of bhog offerings continued to influence the
selection and preparation of food items in homes thereafter, especially those
following vegetarian diets.According to the Ayurveda, sattvic food promotes
longevity, health purity, strength, happiness and cheerfulness, rajasic causes
pain, grief and disease and tamsic promotes slothfulness, cruelty and evil
nature. Practically speaking, why a certain fuel is used in combination with a
certain metal vessel is because of the conduction factor. It was here that
education was imparted, matchmakers flourished, marriages were sanctified and so
on.Add besan a little at a time till you have a dropping consistency
batter.Ingredients are selected with utmost care keeping in mind quality and
purity. In the times of community living the temple kitchen was where bhog was
prepared and then distributed as prasad. From ancient times in India, the temple
has been considered not only the spiritual but also the social center of Indian
society. In Jagannath temple (Puri), the bark of the Daaru tree is used –— Daaru
literally means to erode or take away…in this case it implies the erosion of all
suffering. To serve, place a layer of the ras ki pakoris on a tray and dust with
boora. While there are many general considerations concerning various aspects of
bhog, some temples follow rituals that are unique to their sampraday (religious
system or identity).
Red hued vegetables like carrots and tomatoes are avoided
because of their colour association with
hex flange nut
Suppliers blood while cauliflower and red chilies are also ignored as being
difficult for the delicate satvik digestive system. A different raag accompanies
the offering depending on the time of year and day. Food is an integral part of
Indian culture and the great emphasis on food is apparent from the fact that it
has often been called the ‘kitchen religion’

Some environment and infrastructure expenses
For the full year, the net loss jumped almost nine times to Rs 4,169 crore from
Rs 497 crore in FY16 while sales grew to Rs 1. Mumbai: Tata Steel narrowed its
losses in the quarter ended March 31, to Rs 1,168 crore down from Rs 3,042 crore

including the non-cash pension curtailment charges, aggregated to Rs 4,069 crore
in the January-March quarter, and Rs 4,324 crore for the year, the company said.
Last year, the company also sold its speciality steel business to Liberty House

The report said the commission did not get cooperation
This commission notices that the government officials continue to resist
commission’s efforts to open doors for discussions for obtaining information/
data. The commission, constituted on October 14, 2009, was scheduled to file
report in 2010.
In this case, what is required is that the system of devolution
of funds from GNCTD should be more transparent and all the details should be
provided to municipalities regarding how the amount has been arrived at by the
accounts, before releasing the amount to the municipalities. We are equally
amazed to learn the newly-established corporations, without understanding full
implications of the government dispensed freebies in the nature of granting
loans to each of them in utter disregard to the provisions of Section 185 of the
Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957, have jumped to borrow funds from the
government and unwittingly accepted a dangerous worm in their internal sources
of income which will spread its tentacles in years to come. The 246-page report,
a copy of which was accessed by this newspaper, said:
We have not been able to
understand the logic for making these changes while implementing the
recommendations of the First Delhi Finance Commission, particularly when the
Central government guidelines on the subject require the state governments to
develop a convention of accepting the recommendations of the State Finance
Commission just in the case of the recommendations of the Central Finance
Commissions.Expressing serious concern over the way recommendations of the
successive finance panels were being modified or rejected, the report said the
recommendations of the First Finance Commission to transfer 9.â€
The report
emphasised that the director of local bodies instead of taking control of fixed
and movable assets and acting as per principles recommended by the panel in its
interim report on March 31, 2012, appeared to have acquiesced with a situation
where the municipal officers of the MCD continued to deal with the assets of the
corporation in a manner as decided by the committee of demised corporation.â€In
an annexure, the commission said it seems that increase in tax revenue was more
than the increase in the share of municipalities as suggested by the earlier
commissions.5 per cent of the basic annual fiscal of the city government’s tax
revenue had been modified to 5. Till this date, we have not been supplied
details of assets and liabilities of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. It said
that the Central grants, instead of being passed on to the municipalities, were
being subsumed as a part of the general revenue of the city government. It said:
"This is rather unfortunate because of lack of judicial persona despite above
caveat from our end.
Although the Delhi Finance Commission is clothed with the
powers of a civil court for summoning anyone as a witness, whenever these powers
have attempted to be invoked,

Suppliers official reaction at the highest bureaucratic level was heavily
tilted in favour of the officials.â€The fourth financial report said the
government while giving loans to the municipalities should follow the statutory
provisions regulating the powers of the municipalities to borrow funds from the
Consolidated Fund of the capital.â€.â€Quoting estimates given for 2012-13, the
report said that it seemed that the financial position of the government could
very well support the requirements of the municipalities. "The municipalities
should be encouraged to establish special funds to ensure that the municipal
activities for which are proposed get fair provisions and the amounts credited
therein are not used for other purposes. It said transfer payments should not be
allowed to be used for making payment of salaries and wages of any kind.â€
The
report said the commission did not get cooperation from the government in its
effort to collect reliable information. It submitted the report in March 2013
and its recommendations were to be implemented from 2010 to 2015.The report of
the Fourth Delhi Finance Commission on financial health of the city’s municipal
corporations has clearly stated that the Delhi government appeared to be
standing in between the Centre an The report of the Fourth Delhi Finance
Commission on financial health of the city’s municipal corporations has clearly
stated that the Delhi government appeared to be standing in between the Centre
and the civic bodies in the matter of release of Central grants., it has been
assumed that 100 per cent of the eligible expenditure for providing education by
MCD/ NDMC should be met by grants in aid from GNCTD.
It said that in the absence
of transparency regarding grants received by the Delhi government from the

a young cleric who visits Iran with his family to attend ethical classes, and
what happens after his wife falls ill.
From references to wars, to the battle of
relationships, these cinematic treats present the life of Iran in a nutshell.
"Alongside screenings of these films, there will also be an exhibition of

Ronak, an Iranian ensemble, performed a selection of Iranian
traditional music at the opening ceremony and the show opened with Reza

there are also others that take the audience on an adventurous trip like The
Maritime Silk Road, which revolves around two ship captains who want to
transport consignments from the Indian Ocean to China and are attacked by

Though the figures do not move
Though the figures do not move, they are full of latent mobility as if infused with elemental energy. In essence, the story highlights the fact that all the Indian arts are components of a single spectrum of expression signifying the role of unity in art. "It is the expression of thought or feeling in a form that seems beautiful and sublime. Indian temples all over the country are adorned with panels depicting graceful dancing figures in voluptuous splendor and musicians playing their instruments. She is surrounded by a bevy of women playing musical instruments.Strikingly sculptural in conception and execution, these temples incorporate the whole spectrum of
China tile backer board ManufacturersIndian culture and represent a universe carved in stone.
There are a series of panels on the inner walls depicting dancers in 108 different poses, along with descriptive texts from the Natya Sastra. A study of the portrayal of dancers and musicians shows that the sculptors possessed knowledge of the art of dance and its codification as found in Natya Shastru, a treatise on dance. The dancing figures on the pillars are veritable dreams of beauty. The dance is one of the highest forms of representation of divine powers in Indian art and it is seen in the portrayal of Lord Shiva’s role as Nataraja, the lord of dance. Working though rhythmic body swings, the dancer creates a vocabulary of hand gestures, of eyes as well as facial expressions for the portrayal of moods, emotions, sentiments, actions and ideas. When he requested to be taught painting, the teacher pointed out that it was difficult to follow the rules of painting without understanding the technique of dancing followed by music. Frozen in stone, there is a display of movements of every part of the human frame from head to toe. Indian sculpture celebrates the divine in the forms of Gods and Goddesses as also the man mostly as divine manifestation.A story, mentioned in one of the texts on Aesthetics, narrates how a king asked his teacher to guide him to make sculpture. The most marvelous sculptures portraying the joy of living, are to be found at the world famous Khajuraho temples built by the Chandela kings (10th – 13th century AD). Invariably, the graceful nude bodies are adorned with a variety of ornaments, which not only heighten their charm but also serve as draperies.†All the interiors display a magic world of white marble carved with a profusion of detail with infinite patience and skill which surpasses anything seen elsewhere. Abu in Rajasthan (11th-13th century AD) according to Col James Tod, "are the most superb of all temple in India. Particular themes from the dancers’ repertoire have been portrayed in sculptures where the underlying rhythm is essentially similar to the dancer’s rhythm. But it is obligatory to know the rules of painting first, the king was told. One can easily recognise the profound influence exerted by the classical art of dance on sculpture. One is astounded by the competence of the artists who made the stone pulsate with life passion. The last one is the most evocative in Chola art and its fascinating figures dancing in graceful poses suggest Nityavinoda, perpetual entertainment or eternal music and dance. The amazing bounty of sculptures portraying rhythm and melody through enchanting images of dancers and musicians dazzles the observer with their unsurpassed beauty and grandeur and baffles him with their varied complexity. The dancer in the middle of a sensual pose seems to be lost in a reverie.†The Indian aesthetic tradition implies close relationship between the visual and performing arts, particularly dance, music and drama, which have always played an important part in India’s religious and social life. One of them is playing a bamboo flute, which is still quite common in rural India. His dance symbolised an ecstasy of motion, the rhythm of which holds the universe together, perpetuating the cosmic activities of Creation, Preservation and Destruction. "Art is the creation of beauty,†says Will Durant. For the sculptors, the creation of these immortal images was itself considered an act of worship. The dancer creates an ambience where the theme, the song and the rhythm all combine to produce a particular emotion or sentiment (rasa). We also come across exquisitely carved friezes and sculptures showing dancers and musicians in a number of other temples such as the colossal temple of Konark, devoted to the Sun God, Ramappa temple at Palampet, Mahadev temple near Sikat, temples in Bhubaneshwar and Puri, Brihadeshwara temple at Tanjore and one is Darasuram. The wealth of sculptures is education for the dancers and serves as a term of reference for the revival of classical dance form in the thirties of the last century. The dance is one of the highest forms of representation of divine powers in Indian art and it is seen in the portrayal of Lord Shiva’s role as Nataraja, the lord of dance. The figures are full of warmth and sheer ecstasy of living in the beautiful world. They have captured in stone what could not be recorded in words. With their feet posed in dance stamping the rhythm of their music, these figures are marvelous works of art full of life and movement.A story, mentioned in one of the texts on Aesthetics, narrates how a king asked his teacher to guide him to make sculpture. The holy seat of Nataraja is the magnificent temple of Chidambaram.Traditionally, Indian dance is a display of grace in motion and rhythm. The Dilwara temples at Mt. The cave at Aurangabad (6th century AD) are renowned for a group of reliefs, which depict a dance scene. Movement dominates the sculptures of dancers and musicians whose beauty and grace have been captured in different moods.

Those trucks can have a more limited range
But most of that growth is expected to be for smaller, medium-duty haulers like
garbage trucks or delivery vans. This could present another distraction from
really just making sure that the Model 3 is moved along effectively,†said Bruce
Clark, a senior vice president and automotive analyst at Moody’s.
He leads
rocket maker SpaceX and is dabbling in other projects, including high-speed
transit, artificial intelligence research and a new company that’s digging
tunnels beneath Los Angeles to alleviate traffic congestion."He’s got so much on
his plate right now. Tesla says the new Roadster will have 620 miles of range
and a top speed of 250 mph (402 kph). It also has a system that automatically
keeps the vehicle in its lane.
CEO Elon Musk said the semi is capable of
travelling 500 miles on an electric charge - even with a full 80,000-pound load.
They can also be fully charged overnight. Meanwhile, the company posted a record
quarterly loss of $619 million in its most recent quarter. CEO Elon Musk said
the semi is capable of travelling 500 miles (804km) on an electric charge — even
with a full 80,000-pound (36,287kg) load — and will cost less than a diesel semi
considering fuel savings, lower maintenance and other factors. Wal-Mart Stores
Inc. Midwest retailer Meijer said it has reserved four trucks.Even so, the
company already is starting to get orders.
Tesla’s semi is venturing into an
uncertain market.Long-haul semi trucks, on the other hand, would be expected to
go greater distances, and that would be challenging. Falling battery costs also
will help make electric trucks more appealing compared to diesel. The truck will
have Tesla’s Autopilot system, which can maintain a set speed and slow down
automatically in traffic.B.But even lower costs won’t make trucking a sure bet
for Tesla. Trucks account for nearly a quarter of transportation-related
greenhouse gas emissions in the US, according to government statistics. On
Thursday night, Tesla surprised fans with another product: An updated version of
its first sports car, the Roadster. Without Tesla’s promised fast-charging, even
a mid-sized truck would likely require a two-hour stop, cutting into companies’
efficiency and profits, says Brian Irwin, managing director of the North
American industrial group for the consulting firm Accenture.
The truck will have
Tesla’s Autopilot system, which can maintain a set speed and slow down
automatically in traffic."These are business people, not fans, and they will
need to be convinced that this truck is better for their balance sheet than
existing technology. The move fits with Musk’s stated goal for the company of
accelerating the shift to sustainable transportation. Musk said several Tesla
semis will be able to travel in a convoy, autonomously following each other. The
car, coming in 2020, will have a base price of $200,000. Hunt said it has
reserved "multiple†tractors that it will deploy on the West Coast but didn’t
specify how many. Musk said customers can put down a $5,000 deposit for the semi
now and production will begin in 2019.
Those trucks can have a more limited
range of 100 miles (160km) or less, which requires fewer expensive batteries.
last year.Musk said Tesla plans a worldwide network of solar-powered
"megachargers†that could get the trucks back up to 400 miles of range after
charging for only 30 minutes. Electric truck sales totalled 4,100 in 2016, but
are expected to grow to more than 70,000 in 2026, says Navigant Research. It
probably is, based on the specs provided, but this isn’t necessarily a slam
dunk,†said Rebecca Lindland, an executive analyst at Kelley Blue Book. Right
now, there’s little charging infrastructure on global highways. Tesla is working
on a pickup truck and a lower-cost SUV and negotiating a new factory in China.
It faces stiff competition from long-trusted brands like Daimler AG, which
unveiled its own semi-prototype last month. But the semi also piles on more chaos
at the Palo Alto, California-based company.Musk, too, is being pulled in many
directions.
It’s also ramping up production of solar panels after buying Solar
City Corp.Irwin says truck companies will have to watch the market carefully
because tougher regulations on diesel or an improvement in charging
infrastructure could make electric trucks more viable very quickly.Musk said
Tesla will guarantee the semi’s powertrain for one million miles to help
alleviate customers’ concerns. The company unveiled its new electric
semitractor-trailer Thursday night near its design centre in Hawthorne,
California. Tesla is way behind in production of the Model 3, a new lower-cost
sedan, with some customers facing waits of 18 months or more.Tesla unveiled its
new electric semitractor-trailer Thursday night near its design centre in

We’re confident that this is a product that’s better in
every way from a feature standpoint,†Musk told a crowd of Tesla fans gathered
for the unveiling. Musk didn’t reveal the semi’s price. wants to electrify a new

A number of progressive steps may soon be taken
His actions have made changes necessary. Right now, the board has members from
all kinds of backgrounds and fields. He made it clear that he wants people who
understood films and the industry to be on the board.Ashoke Pandit, CBFC
MemberThe censor board actually never had many problems.Akhilesh Jaiswal,
DirectorI think this is a very good move as the CBFC will now start thinking of
the audience rather than unnecessarily chopping off the film. They will have to
listen to him or it will only be seen as a farce.
Nandini Sardesai, CBFC
memberWhen the government brought Shyam Benegal on board the panel, they must
have obviously known that he has always been anti-censorship. We now know how to
slot our films and the kind of audience we cater too.
Another important change
that is needed is to reform in how the board's members are chosen. Within the
board, I along with Chandraprakash (Dwivedi) and a few other members have been
extremely vocal about censorship and we were
insulation
boards Suppliers the first to raise a voice when Nihalani introduced that
list of cuss words to be ‘banned’. The censor board has had a busy year churning
out one controversy after the other, be it for the infamous ‘ban-list’ of cuss
words (a brainchild of its controversial head Pahlaj Nihlani) or for its
generous use of the ‘scissors’ — so much so that it didn’t even spare
Bollywood’s ‘Sanskari ambassador’ Sooraj Barjatya. It was only after Pahlaj
Nihalani took over that all these problems have come up. He (Benegal) is a good
friend of mine and told me that the very first step will be to do away with the
idea of censorship.
He also wants culturally diverse panels for certifying films
from different regions because what might be acceptable in say a Kerala, might
not be acceptable elsewhere and the same with other regions. Whether the CBFC
agrees to implement the suggestions is completely in their hands and I hope they
do because these recommendations work well for us. Headed by veteran filmmaker
Shyam Benegal, the panel set up in January left the industry brimming with
positivity about the changes to come. That is why we were sidelined within the
board and weren’t even shown any movies to review. The film certification needed
a revision and this will definitely be better for the filmmakers. And from what
we hear, this is not the only change Benegal’s panel has proposed to the union
minister. And Shyam ji (Benegal), Rakeysh ji (Omprakash Mehra) are all
successful filmmakers who understand the field, so you can’t disregard their
recommendations.
A number of progressive steps may soon be taken, including a
re-look at how members are selected and also having culturally diverse panels.
On whether his panel's recommendations will fructify, it was the government that
appointed him and the other members of the panel. I am sure that in another two
or three months, we will be seeing big changes being implemented. However, I am
very positive about this new change and there’s enough reason to be hopeful. But
after a spate of controversies, there finally seems to be some good news on the
cards for the CBFC, as the government appointed panel set up to advice changes
to the board has submitted its report — and it’s everything the film industry
wished for.
But that is only the first step. Both the ministers at the I &
B Ministry, Arun Jaitley and Rajyavardhan Rathore have been pretty vocal from
the start about wanting reform in censorship. In the report he and his team —
which includes other prominent members such as Nina Lath Gupta and Bhawana
Somaaya — have recently submitted to Union Minister Arun Jaitley, Benegal has
unequivocally recommended that the ‘censor’ board’s power to advise cuts be
completely done away with and make it a certifying body and not a ‘censoring’
one — a stance he has maintained from even before he came on board the panel.
And just like it is with his films, Benegal surely doesn’t disappoint.
The censor
board has had a busy year churning out one controversy after the other, be it
for the infamous ‘ban-list’ of cuss words (a brainchild of its controversial
head Pahlaj Nihlani) or for its ge Vikram Bhatt’s latest film Love Games faced
issues with the CBFC. During Mastram, we had to remove certain scenes in spite
of the fact that we exactly knew who our target audience was, these categories
will help and liberate filmmakers. We get industry insiders to weigh in on how
likely the panel’s recommendations are to see the light of day and what this
means for the future of censorship in the country. Bejoy Nambiar, DirectorThis
is certainly a welcome change
